Volleyball Recap: Elkins Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Elkins came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tigers have suffered since November 13, 2024.

While Elkins had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-21, 25-20.

Maura O'Neill paced Elkins' offense, picking up seven kills. O'Neill got some help from Hannah Currence and her 12 assists. Jasmin Workman controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Elkins has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8-1 record this season. As for Buckhannon-Upshur, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5-1.

Coming up, Elkins will square off against South Harrison at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Buckhannon-Upshur, they will face off against Bridgeport at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
