Southwest Covenant lost to Oklahoma Bible back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Southwest Covenant Patriots came out on top against the Oklahoma Bible Trojans by a score of 5-2. The five-run effort marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Journey Miller and Conway Marburger made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Miller tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Meanwhile, Marburger pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Miller has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Miller went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Marburger scored a run while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kale Karn, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

The victory made it two in a row for Southwest Covenant and bumps their season record up to 3-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Oklahoma Bible, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southwest Covenant will head out to take on Hydro-Eakly at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwest Covenant is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Oklahoma Bible, they are taking a road trip to challenge Fairview at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
