Soccer Game Preview: Lake Park vs. Addison Trail

The Lake Park Lancers will head out on the road to take on the Addison Trail Blazers at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Lake Park's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Lake Park's offense. They came up short against Wheaton-Warrenville South on Thursday, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Lake Park can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 185th, while Wheaton-Warrenville South are ranked fifth).

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Addison Trail and Willowbrook, and Addison Trail kept the tradition alive. The Blazers beat the Warriors by a goal, winning 2-1. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Addison Trail were the better team in the second half.

Addison Trail's win ended a four-match drought at home and bumped them up to 4-9. As for Lake Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9-1.
