Football Recap: Chalmette Keeps Holy Cross' Under Pressure

Chalmette was the 9-7 winner over Holy Cross when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Owls took a hard 23-6 fall against the Tigers on Friday. The Owls have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Even if they lost, Chalmette's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Dan Stevenson, Lathan Bartholomew, and Tristan Dubose, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in Holy Cross' side was David Gonzalez, who made 15 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Chalmette now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Holy Cross, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Chalmette will head out to square off against Booker T. Washington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Holy Cross, they will face off against Edna Karr at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. This will be the Tigers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
