Baseball Recap: Wayne Takes a Loss

Wayne had lost four straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 4-11 to make it five. They lost 12-0 to Stratford. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, Wayne's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Wayne saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Kemp, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

As for Stratford, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games.

On Stratford's side, Grady Carter made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Carter has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, Stratford got a massive performance out of Brody Hallmark, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave Hallmark a new career-high. Camon McNew also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Looking ahead, Wayne will welcome Wewoka at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Stratford, they will head out to square off against Ninnekah at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
