Baseball Recap: Shelby County Rockets vs. Henry Clay Blue Devils
While Shelby County's win against Henry Clay wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rockets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Blue Devils on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rockets have posted since April 14th.
Foster Whisman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.
