Baseball Recap: Manti Takes a Loss

Manti and Emery squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Manti had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 9-7. The loss continues a trend for the Templars in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost three in a row.

Manti saw nine different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lane Cox, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Cox has become a key player for the Templars: the team is 6-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-11 otherwise.

Manti now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Emery, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-17.

While Manti had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
