Baseball Recap: Pasquotank County Takes a Loss

Pasquotank County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 5-1 to the First Flight Nighthawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Nighthawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Tuesday.

Nathan Rice put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI.

Pasquotank County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for First Flight, their record now sits at 11-7.

Coming up, Pasquotank County will face off against Currituck County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for First Flight, they will square off against Hertford County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.06 runs per game on average), something the Nighthawks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
