Football Game Preview: Palos Verdes Sea Kings vs. Inglewood Sentinels + How To Watch

The Palos Verdes Sea Kings will face off against the Inglewood Sentinels at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Palos Verdes' defense has only allowed 14.9 points per game this season, so Inglewood's offense will have their work cut out for them.

On Friday, Palos Verdes was fully in charge, breezing past Lawndale 40-13. The Sea Kings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by 24 points or more this season.

Dominik Hernando was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 211 yards and two TDs while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Those two rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Palos Verdes was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 300 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Inglewood's game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They managed a 21-17 win over Mira Costa. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Sentinels.

Inglewood's win came from a few key players Palos Verdes will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Semaj Welch, who rushed for 174 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries. He has become a key player for Inglewood: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least 100 rushing yards, but 0-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Lincoln Jahn, who threw for 325 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 16.3 yards per attempt.

The victory got Inglewood back to even at 4-4. As for Palos Verdes, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Palos Verdes has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 161.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Inglewood struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 156.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Palos Verdes was dealt a bruising 37-3 loss at the hands of Inglewood in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Sea Kings, Wyatt McCauley (who threw for 252 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
