Soccer Game Preview: Grapevine vs. Argyle

The Grapevine Mustangs will face off against the Argyle Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Grapevine's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They won by a goal and slipped past Colleyville Heritage 1-0. Given Grapevine's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 41st, while Colleyville Heritage are ranked 195th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Grapevine's one-goal win came courtesy of Tyler Thompson, who's now up to seven this season.

Meanwhile, Argyle came tearing into Thursday's match with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Royals by a score of 2-0. Argyle's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four matchups.

Grapevine's win bumped their record up to 8-2-2. As for Argyle, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.

Grapevine might still be hurting after the 4-1 loss they got from Argyle in their previous matchup back in February of 2025. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
