Baseball Game Preview: Haven Wildcats vs. Hoisington Cardinals

The Haven Wildcats will head out to challenge the Hoisington Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Haven will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Last Monday, Haven made easy work of Remington and carried off a 12-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Hesston hit Hoisington with a seven-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cardinals came up short against the Swathers, falling 15-3. The Cardinals have struggled against the Swathers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Lane French was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was his first of the season.

Haven pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Hoisington, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.

Haven couldn't quite finish off Hoisington in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
