Volleyball Recap: Sunrise Mountain's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Sunrise Mountain had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They put the hurt on the Ironwood Eagles with a sharp 3-0 win. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 3-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Sunrise Mountain walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-22, 25-15.

Their offense was headlined by Brayden Case and Kyler (KJ) Freid, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Dane Shepherd and his 24 assists. Carter Holzschuh controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Despite the loss, Ironwood still got an impressive performance from Colton Working, who had nine digs and one assist.

Sunrise Mountain's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-11. As for Ironwood, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Sunrise Mountain is set to take on their familiar foe Kellis at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Ironwood will challenge rival Willow Canyon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
