Baseball Recap: Coal City Coalers vs. Rochester Rockets
Coal City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell just short of the Rochester Rockets by a score of 8-7. Coal City was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Rochester apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.
Dylan Young was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Coal City's defeat dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Rochester, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-12.
Coal City will head out on the road to face off against Pleasant Plains at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Rochester, they are on the road again on Monday to play Charleston at 4:30 p.m. Charleston will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Rochester surely won't give up without a fight.
