Softball Recap: Rocky Mount Academy Drops Highest Score of Season Against Harrells Christian Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rocky Mount Academy). They walked away with an 11-7 victory over the Harrells Christian Academy Crusaders on Thursday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Landry Miller and Berkeley Miller made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Miller struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Meanwhile, Berkeley struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). At the plate, Miller went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Berkeley scored two runs while going 2-for-5. What's more, Landry posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Katie Bulluck, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ellen Feagans, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run.

Rocky Mount Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .436. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Rocky Mount Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Harrells Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
