Football Game Preview: Virgin Valley Bulldogs vs. Western Warriors

Virgin Valley has gone 3-0 against Western recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Virgin Valley Bulldogs will venture away from home to challenge the Western Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Virgin Valley is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.

Virgin Valley's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They really took it to Doral Academy Red Rock for the full four quarters, racking up a 51-0 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by 27 points or more this season.

Davie Slack was her usual excellent self, throwing for 168 yards and five touchdowns. She is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as she's now passed for three or more in the last five games she's played. Linita Kioa got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Virgin Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Kioa picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Western won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Eldorado 19-18.

Virgin Valley's win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.6 points per game. As for Western, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-9 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Virgin Valley against Western in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 48-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Virgin Valley since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
