Baseball Recap: Clark Montessori Drops Highest Score of Season Against Lockland

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clark Montessori). They never let the Lockland Panthers get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won eight in a row.

Ethan Ernst made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for Clark Montessori: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise.

In other batting news, Clark Montessori got a massive performance out of Garvin Dixon, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. The Cougars are undefeated when Dixon posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Cian Wright was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Clark Montessori always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .710. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Clark Montessori now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Lockland, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clark Montessori will challenge Norwood at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lockland, they will venture away from home to challenge New Miami at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
