Volleyball Game Preview: Center Grove Trojans vs. Roncalli Royals

The Center Grove Trojans are taking a road trip to challenge the Roncalli Royals at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Center Grove is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Indiana's top teams: Indianapolis Bishop Chatard, who was ranked 16th at the time (Center Grove was ranked tenth). Center Grove came out on top against Indianapolis Bishop Chatard by a score of 3-1 on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Center Grove.

Center Grove was especially dominant in the fourth set. The final score came out to 26-24, 22-25, 25-17, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Roncalli came tearing into Tuesday's game with 13 straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on Hamilton Southeastern with a sharp 3-0 victory.

One reason for the win was Roncalli's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-19, 25-16.

Roncalli pushed their record up to 17-3 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Center Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 17-4-1.

Center Grove suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Roncalli in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
