Softball Recap: Southlake Carroll Takes a Loss

Southlake Carroll's tournament run continued when they took on Lone Star on Friday. The Southlake Carroll Dragons fell 7-4 to the Lone Star Rangers. The Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Olivia Wiske was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Emmy May was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Scarlett Kuhn, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Southlake Carroll's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Lone Star, their win bumped their record up to 5-2-1.

Looking ahead, Southlake Carroll will take on Birdville at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Lone Star, they will take on McKinney Boyd in a tournament on Saturday.
