Softball Recap: Foothill Comes Up Short

Foothill and Harvard-Westlake squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Foothill had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Knights have suffered since March 22nd.

Capri Gallego was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over six innings pitched.

Foothill's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-15. As for Harvard-Westlake, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-7.

Foothill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Harvard-Westlake, they will square off against Dos Pueblos at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Chargers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Wolverines surely won't give up without a fight.
