Baseball Game Preview: Bucklin Red Aces vs. Satanta Indians

Bucklin is a perfect 10-0 against Satanta since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Red Aces will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Indians at 4:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Bucklin's favor as the squad sits on nine straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Satanta has been banged up by nine consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

15 must be Bucklin's lucky number: they beat Skyline with that score not once but twice on Monday. The Red Aces didn't even let the Thunderbirds on the board, marking the Red Aces' second-straight 15-0 shutout. Considering the Red Aces have won three matchups by more than 13 runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Jack Herd was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Bucklin is undefeated when Herd posts two or more runs, but 2-3 otherwise.

In other batting news, Bucklin let Jack Willems and Nick Feikert run wild. Willems got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Feikert went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits Feikert has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Kirk, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Satanta lost 26-3 to Minneola on Tuesday.

Satanta's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Bucklin, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Bucklin took their victory against Satanta when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 16-1 score. Will the Red Aces repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
