Baseball Recap: Lake Mary Prep Comes Up Short

Lake Mary Prep couldn't beat Circle Christian on Monday even though they stacked five runs on them in the sixth inning. The Griffins fell just short of the Centurions by a score of 9-8. The Griffins were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Centurions earlier this season, when they won 6-5.

Landon Trauger was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Payne Fitzmaurice, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.

Lake Mary Prep has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Circle Christian, their win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-12.

Lake Mary Prep has already played their next match, a 14-0 defeat against Taylor on the 8th. As for Circle Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-8 loss against Jones on the 8th.
