Basketball Recap: Mount Pleasant Triumphs + How To Watch

After losing to Central Cabarrus the last time they met, Mount Pleasant decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Tigers secured a 70-66 W over the Vikings on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Despite the loss, Central Cabarrus had strong showings from Parker Watkins, who went 10-for-20 on his way to 26 points and five assists, and Duron Vaughn, who shot 82% from the field to rack up 20 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Dexter Montague, who went 5-for-11 en route to 12 points.

Mount Pleasant now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Central Cabarrus, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Mount Pleasant will square off against South Rowan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Central Cabarrus, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hopewell at 7:30 p.m. on December 2.
