            Baseball Preview: Somerset Briar Jumpers vs. Elizabethtown Panthers        
        
		
        
        
            The Somerset Briar Jumpers will head out on the road to  face off against  the Elizabethtown Panthers  at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Somerset and Boyle County have met, but the home crowd finally got their W  on Friday. The Briar Jumpers lost  12-2 to the Rebels. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest  loss the Briar Jumpers have suffered  against the Rebels since March 27, 2018.
 Somerset saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Caynan Sizemore, who  went 2-for-3 with two  RBI.
 Elizabethtown let Central Hardin stack four runs on them in the third inning  on Friday but luckily Elizabethtown prevailed anyway. The Panthers walked away with  an   8-4  win over the Bruins. While the Panthers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
 Elizabethtown has  been performing  well recently as they've  won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Somerset, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.
 Somerset couldn't quite get it done against Elizabethtown in their previous meeting  back in April of 2016 as they fell  4-0. Can the Briar Jumpers avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
