Marmaton Valley had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Northeast Vikings 11-9. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-14 on Monday.

Marmaton Valley's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-4. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs across that stretch. As for Northeast, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Coming up, Marmaton Valley is taking a road trip to challenge Jayhawk Linn on Thursday. As for Northeast, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Galena at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
