Basketball Recap: Evans Comes Up Short

Evans was the 50-49 winner over Anacoco when they last played one another back in November of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Evans Eagles fell 41-32 to the Anacoco Indians on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Indians are ranked 57th).

Evans has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. As for Anacoco, they pushed their record up to 12-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Evans didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-45 loss against Pickering on the 10th. As for Anacoco, they will venture away from home to face off against Oberlin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Oberlin's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.
