After a string of seven wins, Sherrard's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Orion Chargers by a score of 2-1. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Chargers earlier this season, when they won 2-1.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Sherrard sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 26-28, 25-18.
Defeat or not, Sherrard got some senior leadership from Adalynn Elsbury and Ellie Swanson. Elsbury had 18 digs, while Swanson had 20 assists and five digs. Those 20 assists set a new season-high mark for Swanson.
Orion found their leader in sophomore Kendyl Filler, who had 12 digs and five aces.
Sherrard's loss dropped their record down to 20-3-1. As for Orion, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.
Sherrard wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Abingdon/Avon on the 9th. Orion has also already played their next match (against Canton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
