Softball Recap: South Iredell Vikings vs. Lake Norman Wildcats
After flying high against West Cabarrus last Friday, South Iredell came back down to earth. The Vikings took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lake Norman Wildcats on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-8 back in March.
Addi Myers made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Caroline Constable was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
South Iredell's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Lake Norman, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Iredell will welcome A.L. Brown at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wonders have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season. As for Lake Norman, they will be playing at home against Cox Mill at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
