Baseball Game Preview: Caldera vs. Bend Lava Bears

Caldera is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will host the Bend Lava Bears at 4:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Friday, Caldera came up short against South Salem and fell 4-1. The game marked Caldera's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Caldera saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Downing, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Bend faced Wilsonville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Lava Bears lost 7-1 to the Wildcats. The Lava Bears haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Caldera's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Bend, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
