Recap: Chamberlain Storm vs. Freedom Patriots
The Chamberlain Storm scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They came out on top against Freedom by a score of 39-26. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Chamberlain as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Chamberlain's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from K'mari Johnson, who scored 15 points. That's the first time this season that Johnson scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Dejesus, who scored 11 points.
Freedom's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taniya Pedroso, who scored eight points.
Chamberlain's victory ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-10. As for Freedom, they bumped their record down to 0-12 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home.
Chamberlain will take on Jefferson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Jefferson is ranked 548th, while Chamberlain is ranked 550th). As for Freedom, they will head out on the road to challenge Brandon at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Brandon is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
