Basketball Game Preview: McKee Vo-Tech Seagulls vs. Port Richmond Raiders

The McKee Vo-Tech Seagulls are taking a road trip to square off against the Port Richmond Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. McKee Vo-Tech is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.

Two weeks ago, McKee Vo-Tech didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Petrides, but they still walked away with a 69-64 victory. Given the Seagulls' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Petrides are ranked 395th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 71 points the game before, Port Richmond was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were beaten by St. Thomas Aquinas 69-27. The match marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

McKee Vo-Tech pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.7 points per game. As for Port Richmond, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Everything came up roses for McKee Vo-Tech against Port Richmond in their previous matchup back in November, as the team secured a 63-33 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for McKee Vo-Tech since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
