Volleyball Recap: Reavis Starts Season with Victory at Home

Reavis gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They skirted past the Berwyn/Cicero Morton Mustangs 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won six in a row.

If you add up the scores from across all three sets (69-62) Reavis actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 25-21, 12-25, 25-23.

Their offense was headlined by Weronika Kurnat and Lily Fish, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Quetzalli Pichardo-Aich and her 15 assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Reavis will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Crete-Monee at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Berwyn/Cicero Morton, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Elmwood Park at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
