Baseball Recap: Dardanelle Comes Up Short

Dardanelle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pottsville Apaches. The Sand Lizards were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Apaches apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Dardanelle saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rush Cornwell, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI. Race Robinson also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Dardanelle's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Pottsville, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

When Dardanelle and Pottsville next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Dardanelle will face off against Mansfield and their three-game winning streak at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Pottsville will try to stop Dover's four-game winning streak when they meet at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
