Softball Recap: Hernando Find Success

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Hernando ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past the Central Bears 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Leopards have posted since April 18, 2024.

Ammarae Easton was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Murphi Blade, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Hernando's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.7 runs over those games. As for Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-11.

Looking ahead, Hernando will take on South Sumter at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Central, they will challenge Pasco at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
