Volleyball Recap: Middletown Christian Extends Winning Streak to Three

Middletown Christian waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Emmanuel Christian Academy Lions by a score of 3-1. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Middletown Christian had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-20, 27-25, 25-20.

Emmanuel Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Pheoby Hamastra, who had 31 digs and two aces. Hamastra is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Piper Willetts, who had 26 digs and two aces.

Middletown Christian's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Emmanuel Christian Academy, they moved to 4-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Middletown Christian will challenge Carroll at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Emmanuel Christian Academy, they will host Calvary Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
