Softball Recap: Tomahawk Has No Trouble Against Rhinelander

Tomahawk won the last time they faced Rhinelander and things went their way on Thursday too. The Hatchets put the hurt on the Hodags with a sharp 13-4 victory. Considering the Hatchets have won three matches by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Camryn Kraklow spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits.

At the plate, Autumn Merrigan was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Averi Petta was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Tomahawk kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.

Tomahawk's record is now 4-6. As for Rhinelander, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Tomahawk has already played their next game (against Wausau East), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Rhinelander, they will square off against Antigo at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
