Volleyball Recap: Southwest Virginia Academy Conquerors vs. Westover Christian Academy Bulldogs

After flying high against Faith Christian Academy last Monday, Southwest Virginia Academy came back down to earth. The Conquerors fell 3-1 to the Westover Christian Academy Bulldogs on Monday. The Conquerors haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Southwest Virginia Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 15-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-23.

Westover Christian Academy can attribute much of their success to Grace Woodard, who had 37 assists and seven digs. That's the most assists Woodard has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of LaiCie Walker, who had 15 digs and three assists.

Southwest Virginia Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Westover Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Coming up, Southwest Virginia Academy will venture away from home to challenge Auburn Baptist Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westover Christian Academy, they will welcome Roanoke Valley Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
