Baseball Game Preview: North Sand Mountain Bison vs. Pisgah Eagles

North Sand Mountain is a perfect 10-0 against Pisgah since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The North Sand Mountain Bison will look to defend their home field against the Pisgah Eagles at 4:30 p.m. North Sand Mountain is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games.

On Thursday, North Sand Mountain got the win against Pisgah by a conclusive 12-1. The Bison might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Luke Reed made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Mikey Poss was a standout: he scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jaxson Stiles, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

North Sand Mountain's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Pisgah, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
