Softball Recap: Riverside Comes Up Short

Riverside had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 9-8 to make it four. They came up short against Lewis County, falling 16-5. Riverside was not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Lewis County earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Lainie Holbert was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Aubrianna Sego also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

As for Lewis County, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-4. The matchup marked their most dominant win of the season.

On Lewis County's side, they got a massive performance out of Makaela Dodson, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Clara Tanner, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Riverside has already played their next contest, a 12-2 victory against Perry County on the 17th. Lewis County has also already played their next game (against Richland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
