There's no place like home for Thompson, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They blew past the Mountain Brook Spartans 3-0 on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

While Thompson won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-14, 25-20.

Jayla Green paced Thompson's offense, picking up 11 kills. Green also shared the team's lead in assists with Maddy Henderson: they picked up 11 each. Kenzly Foote controlled things from the service line, finishing with nine aces.

Thompson has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Mountain Brook, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
