Recap: Amite County vs. South Pike
If Amite County were expecting to get some payback for the 6-41 loss against South Pike the last time they met, then they were left disappointed. Amite County were completely outmatched, falling 0-62 to South Pike. Amite County were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-38.
Junior Dontavious Turner, who passed for 159 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in South Pike's success. Sophomore Brandon Johnson was in the mix, too, providing South Pike with 2 touchdowns.
Amite County are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-4. The victory bumped South Pike's record up to 3-1.
Next week Amite County take on Crystal Springs at CRYSTAL SPRINGS HS at 7:00 PM. Amite County come in off of 4 low-scoring performances in a row, a trend the team is obviously eager to reverse. As for South Pike, they will face off against Tylertown.
