Soccer Game Preview: Porter-Gaud vs. Palmetto Christian Academy

The Porter-Gaud Cyclones will head out to square off against Palmetto Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Porter-Gaud is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.

Porter-Gaud's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Waccamaw with a sharp 6-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Cyclones, who have now won seven games by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Waccamaw from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Charlotte Thompson led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Palmetto Christian Academy and Ashley Hall's match on Thursday was close at halftime, but Palmetto Christian Academy turned on the heat in the second half with three goals. Palmetto Christian Academy blew past Ashley Hall 5-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Palmetto Christian Academy.

Porter-Gaud's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four contests. As for Palmetto Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
