Basketball Recap: Arlington Extends Winning Streak to Four

Arlington had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They took down the White Station Spartans 74-56. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Spartans are ranked 261st) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Arlington got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Rj Tate out in front who shot 44% from the field on his way to 18 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Rod Lucas, who posted 14 points in addition to eight assists and eight boards.

Arlington was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in four consecutive games.

Arlington's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for White Station, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Arlington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 75-27 win against Kirby on the 16th. As for White Station, they have also already played their next contest, a 75-45 defeat against Memphis University School on the 13th.
