Baseball Game Preview: Hastings Saxons vs. Saranac Redhawks

The Hastings Saxons will square off against the Saranac Redhawks at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Hastings is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Plainwell.

Grady Reed and Dustin Lampart stepped up to the plate in a big way. Reed scored a run while going 3-for-3, while Lampart scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Colten Denton was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Saranac scored first but ultimately less than Lowell in their matchup on Friday. They came up short against the Red Arrows, falling 16-1.

Hastings' defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Saranac, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 0-2.
