Basketball Recap: Westfield Falls Short of Fishers in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Westfield can now relate to. They fell 54-47 to the Fishers Tigers on Tuesday. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Shamrocks who fell 67-64 when the teams previously met back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Westfield still got an impressive performance from Drew Haffner, who went 7-for-14 on his way to 19 points. That's the most points Haffner has posted since back in December of 2024. Jalen Malone was another key player, putting up ten points and six boards.

Fishers' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jonanthony Hall, who shot 64% from the field to rack up 15 points and eight rebounds. Hall's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jason Gardner, who went 6-for-8 en route to 13 points and six assists.

The defeat snapped Westfield's winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 18-4 record. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points over those games. As for Fishers, the win keeps them at an undefeated 25-0.

Westfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fishers, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 57-41 victory against Zionsville on the 7th.
