Softball Recap: La Plata Takes a Loss

La Plata came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Chopticon Braves, falling 17-9. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Braves: they've now lost four in a row.

Reese Menejia was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Those home runs were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Vivian Lloyd, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

La Plata's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Chopticon, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. La Plata is set to challenge their familiar foe Westlake at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Chopticon will take on rival North Point at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
