Preview: Bartram Trail Bears vs. Beachside Barracudas
The Bartram Trail Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Beachside Barracudas at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bartram Trail has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
On Tuesday, Bartram Trail really took it to Ridgeview for the full four quarters, racking up a 60-22 win on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-8.
It was another big night for David Souza, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds. He set a new season high mark in blocks with two. Jaxon Williamson was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Beachside pushed their score all the way to 63 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 76-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Stanton. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Thursday (62), Beachside still had to take the loss.
Bartram Trail's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Beachside, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.
Bartram Trail beat Beachside 54-47 when the teams last played back in January. Will Bartram Trail repeat their success, or does Beachside have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
