Baseball Recap: Woodside Comes Up Short

Woodside was the 13-10 winner over Phoebus when they last played one another back in March of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Wolverines lost 14-6 to the Phantoms on Tuesday. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mattaniah Cook led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Adam Holloway, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Woodside's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Phoebus, their win bumped their record up to 5-13.

While Woodside had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
