Volleyball Game Preview: Peoria Panthers vs. Cactus Cobras

Peoria is 1-9 against Cactus since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Cobras at 6:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Peoria came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Deer Valley, falling 3-0.

While Peoria was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-16, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Cactus suffered their biggest loss since March 25th on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to Agua Fria. The defeat continues a trend for the Cobras in their meetings with the Owls: they've now lost three in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-13, 25-20.

Cactus' loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Peoria, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-15.

Peoria beat Cactus 3-1 in their previous meeting on April 3rd. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
