New Waverly is 0-3 against Royal since February of 2024 but things could change on Friday. The New Waverly Bulldogs will face off against the Royal Falcons at 5:15 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

New Waverly will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Friday, then bounced right back against Hempstead on Tuesday. Everything went New Waverly's way against Hempstead as New Waverly made off with a 5-2 win. It was an even better day for Alec Ripkowski as he scored four goals for his team.

Meanwhile, Royal came tearing into Tuesday's game with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.6 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Tigers 5-1. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 189th in Texas, while the Tigers are ranked 544th in Texas), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Royal pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 39 goals over those six contests. As for New Waverly, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
