Softball Game Preview: Camden Hills Windjammers vs. Bangor Rams

Camden Hills is 1-6 against Bangor since May of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Windjammers will venture away from home to face off against the Rams at 4:30 p.m.

Skowhegan hit Camden Hills with a five-run first inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Windjammers lost 7-1 to the River Hawks.

Charlotte McGreevy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks.

Meanwhile, Bangor gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They came out on top against Lewiston by a score of 6-2.

Bangor also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Emma Tripp gave up just two earned runs on two hits and racked up 13 Ks.

On the hitting side, Emily Adams was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Sophie Lynch was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Camden Hills took their win against Bangor when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Windjammers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
